The outer layer of this jacket in glowing orange is in its entirety made from recycled fabrics. I’ve used a pretty hand printed Indian tablecloth, vintage curtain material and other matching bits of repurposed fabric. I needed lining to cover the many patchwork seams – and lining is where upcycling doesn’t really work for me because a larger quantity of fabric is necessary, or a specific colour or pattern. In this case I was able to find deadstock Javanaise viscose.
The jacket has one side seam pocket, one patch pocket and vintage buttons, some from the Stockbridge area in Edinburgh, some from Bavaria.
Available in size L only, intended as a loose fit. Garment length 88cm, sleeve length 52cm.
Care instructions: hand wash at low temperature. Drip dry or spin briefly at slow speed. Iron with care. Dry cleaning is also an option.
