I have started making wall hangings with ecological themes. This one here is my response to the devastating bushfires in Australia in 2019/20. The flamboyant red striped fabric in the centre stands for a towering inferno of flames, and the pleated and slashed cream coloured fabrics represent the linear structure of tree trunks in tinder-dry Eucalyptus forests.
All the materials used are upcycled: a vintage scarf,  toile fabric, bed linen. The backing is jute fabric, dressed with a repurposed table cloth.
Length 180cm, width 70cm. Comes with a hanging rod, so it’s ready to be wall mounted.

Care instructions: remove dust by hoovering very gently.
