Machen: Street

This linoprint is part of a series of prints inspired by the landscape around Machen and the village itself. Machen is located near Caerphilly in the Mid Glamorgan district of South Wales with its many remains of the old coal mining industry. Typical for the villages there are rows of near identical terraced houses with stone walls and brickwork around windows and doors. I have put them in the print, together with long wrought iron railings, the ubiquitous butterfly bush and garage sheds. Plus some rubbish, typically to be found in the lanes behind the houses.

Original hand-pulled linoprint, black printing ink on paper. Limited edition. Print size 21 x 30cm. Comes with a double mount.
